Engaged!

Alright, here is yet another post. You've all heard by now that I'm engaged. Here are some pictures of Becky and I. Some of you have already met her, and many of you will soon. She is great, and fits in well with the family in my opinion. :)

I've tried to put these pictures in chronological order. They are from various adventures that have taken place over the course of the summer.

The first big adventure we did was going to Eagle Lake with the family. This was a very fun trip, and a chance for Becky to meet some of the family. It was also a chance for the family to learn that Becky has a bicycle. Way to go mom. ;)

This is me roasting a delicious hot dog at Eagle Lake. I finally convinced Becky to have a bite.

This was my first trip to Salinas. We visited the John Steinbeck museum. I've never read any books by him, but I became educated on some of his works. A couple of Becky's English major friends were also there. I was definitely the uncultured one in the group.

One of the things we enjoy doing together is eating. And one of the things we like to eat most is ice cream. Here were are on one of our trips to Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco. It is VERY delicious. My favorite is the Very Berry Sundae.

Here we are out on a pier in San Francisco, before heading to Ghirardelli

Oh deliciousness!

One of our favorite trips of the summer was a trip to Disneyland and Club 33. I hadn't been to Disneyland in years, I think since 2004. Space was closed for upgrading at that time, so I was very excited to go on Space Mountain. We went more than once. Maybe a few times. For those not in the know, Club 33 is a restaurant not open to the public, that inside the Disneyland park. It's very fancy, like eating dinner in the dining room of a cruise ship. Dinner was delicious! And it was fun getting to go where most people don't get to. I'll try to post another blog later that describes more of our Disneyland adventure.

First ride we went on!

Club 33 has a dress code, so we dressed up a little. Here we are after dinner.

Last ride of the night!

Labor Day weekend we went to Camp Ritchie. It's an event put on by the Young Single Adult ward that is a 3 night coed camping trip. We have church services in the lodge on Sunday. It's a beautiful place in the Sierras owned by the church where many stakes hold Girls Camp throughout the summer.

Nathan Rogers brought a sail boat and we went sailing on the lake at Camp Ritchie.

The weekend before we got engaged, we took a trip to Monterey. While there we went to the Aquarium, ate lunch at a seafood place on cannery row, did the 17 mile drive, and then had ice cream at the Ghirardelli Ice Cream shop on cannery row.

Finally, on the 18th of September, I asked Becky to marry me. Fortunately for me, she said yes! I proposed on top of Bald Mountain, which is a short drive and hike in the Almaden Hills. At the peak you can overlook the entire city of San Jose. It was very pretty. We could see all the city lights below and stars above in the night sky.

Those were good pictures. I feel like I know Becky better now. I'm super excited for your wedding! And I think you should keep posting new blogs. I get bored when people don't. :)

Ditto what Sheri said. I'm glad you gave a little history, cause now I feel like I know Becky. You guys are so cute together and I'm so excited to meet her at Thanksgiving. Good job on the ring, John!

Those pictures are so cute. You guys make a very cute couple. You sure have been a lot of places together! And I would just like to say, for the record, that there is absolutely no point in marrying a girl that doesn't have a bike. You should be grateful to me for establishing that point right up front so you could move past the menial details and get on with your relationship. Becky's ring is beautiful.
