De-seventies Project

Hello, this is Becky. I've never blogged before, but I've been studying up. There were so many updates today I figured we'd better do one, too, as to not be shamed.
As we have no cute kids, recent vacations, or blogworthy meals, I figured we'd just show some house improvements. Hopefully the first of many.

We began by removing any and all wood paneling in the living room.

Also, I surprised John with a new sliding glass door. He almost noticed on his own.

We ripped out the carpet. The previous tenant may have died on this very spot. (see the stains? Sick.)

It was a long process.

We had one casualty (a splinter).
Note the amazing wallpaper in the bathroom.

And one fatality.

But overall, it's definitely an improvement.

It is an improvement. I can't wait to see what else you guys do with the place.

Great post and what a fun project! It looks like you guys will be staying busy right up until the wedding.

Yay! A post from Becky! So I assume that if John was surprised the glass doors were professionally installed? And who in their right mind would cover up such pretty wood floors?

Man, I wanted you guys to keep the wood paneling on the walls! I guess I'll have to settle for wood on the floors. But seriously, that's so cool that you have wood floors under that nasty carpet. I can't wait to see the place when it's all finished.

That looks like too much fun. It will be great when it is all fixed up. I look forward to seeing it in person.

There was John, a sliding glass door and the only injury was a splinter? Given previous history, you're doing quite well! lol
Great progress you guys- it is coming together so well.

Good call, Bethany! John has had less than pleasant experiences with glass doors in the past...
I like that John is wearing a pink band-aid. He is so secure in his manliness. That house is going to look like a whole different place the next time I see it. The wood floors are great and the paneling wasn't. How did you guys come out with the fireplace? I hope you got before and after pictures of that!
By the way, I didn't get a wedding announcement....Is that because I didn't include my own address on the mailing list I sent you? I want one, please....
Rest in peace little hammer. Your sacrifice does not go unnoticed!
