Another productive week.
My mom came over to help assemble invitations. That's about 250 of them. Fun times.
We brought over my books. I'm an English major.
My mom got us a bookcase to match the one John already had, so now my books have a home.
We went trunk-or-treating as Hogwarts students at the Dry Creek ward.
John worked long and hard to cover this fireplace. The best part was bringing home the 8 ft long dry wall panels home in my little Rav4.
Here's the completed project. Much nicer. Also, no injuries this time. Well, there was one small metal puncture in John's hand. He refuses to wear his work gloves unless he's petting my cat.
I tried to make a polka dot pumpkin like one I saw on someone's blog. It didn't turn out like hers, but it did glow very brightly.
We made some carrot cupcakes. They are supposed to be mummies. We took them over to Brian and Annie's, where there was a crazy party going on.
We went to Costco, then John made dinner: ravioli, asparagus, and green beans. The green beans were really squeaky, so we seared them in the asparaus pan. Great choice. The butter sort of carmelized and they were verrry tasty.
John's roommate, Josh, put new strings on his guitar.

One lady asked me if my pumpkin had the chicken pox. I guess it matched John's pumpkin, which looked like it had the flu.

I couldn't help but notice that the books in one of the bookcases looked substantially more orderly than the books in the other. Hmmmm, I wonder which bookcase belongs to which person....
Your home is starting to look so much "homier", which is a GOOD thing (in case you are unfamiliar with the word 'homier').
I liked the pumpkin with chicken pox and the pumpkin with the flu.
I like your Halloween costumes. And Becky, I'm glad that you're better about posting blogs than John is. I like having things to read. :)
I also noticed the substantial difference in the bookcases. And I love your mummy cupcakes. They look so cute.
So the fireplace went from wood paneling to drywall, right? Very nice improvement.
And the costumes are great. We never dress up anymore. It's enough work just getting my kids into costumes.
I love the pumpkins and the mummy cupcakes. It's great to see the progress on the house.
